Emily is a dedicated and experienced therapist at Tristate Psychotherapy Group, licensed in New York. She received her degree from the University at Albany, where she developed a strong foundation in mental health principles and therapeutic practices. Emily's comprehensive training and academic background have equipped her with the knowledge and skills necessary to provide high-quality mental health services to her clients.
With a diverse professional history, Emily brings valuable experience from multiple settings that have contributed to her effectiveness as a clinician. Her background includes direct care roles, investigative and quality improvement work, clinical consultative work with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and autism spectrum disorder, and private practice experience. Her variety of experience in the behavioral health field has allowed her to develop a broad skill set and deep understanding of how to support clients across different contexts.
Emily specializes in working with LGBTQ+ individuals and couples. She works with clients ages 12 to 65. She employs various therapeutic approaches including Person-Centered Therapy, Trauma-Informed care, Mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and the Gottman Method for couples therapy. Her approach is characterized by her LGBTQ+-affirming practice and the breadth of her behavioral health experience. Emily brings her own life experience and perspective to her work, creating a supportive and understanding therapeutic environment for her clients.
